Well, it’s crazy to think that we’re halfway through September, but boy does time fly. That means that fall is right around the corner as well, which I’m personally super excited because I mean, it’s fall. Fall means layers, bonfires, and changing leaves.
But before we get there, AVBE has one last song, titled “Where I Go”, for the summer which he released earlier this month and today just dropped the accompanying music video.
AVBE is a singer/songwriter/producer and guitarist who comes from a Franco-American culture. He paints a refined landscape around pop and electro music, singing his emotions over rhythmic and contemplative productions. His debut EP, “Dawn”, will be releasing this fall.
“Where I Go” is a fun electro-pop tune that takes one last look at summertime in Chicago. The melody is made up of smooth guitar riffs blended with a reggaeton beat, over which AVBE sings about embracing the present and not worrying about the direction we take. It just feels like a summer song, like the song you’d play while sitting on the beach, watching the waves roll in. He enlists the help of Sam H, a Chicago-based singer, to bring in a falsetto verse that just rounds out the joyful and peaceful ambiance surrounding the song.
The music video is the perfect visual artwork for this song. It features AVBE and his friend just dancing and having fun around the city. The video has an old school vibe to it, from the muted color grading to the grainy, film overlay scattered throughout. Scenes of the city are cut between the dancing, running, and playing. It truly captures the theme of living in the moment and enjoying life.
Thanks, AVBE and Sam H, for creating the perfect way to say goodbye to summer.
