NBN Blasts How “She Always Ruins A Good Time”
Anyone who has had a bitter ending to their relationship can heavily relate to Nothing But A Nightmare’s single, “She Always Ruins A Good Time.” This pop-punk single tells the story of a friend who broke up with their ex, with the lyrics switching between the third and first-person perspectives.
“She Always Ruins A Good Time” opens with a fun and catchy chord progression, adding a more lighthearted feel to this breakup anthem. Combined with vocals reminiscent of Tyler Glenn from Neon Trees and a heavy drumbeat, this is the perfect song to scream to in the car whenever anyone needs a pick-me-up.
Lyrically, the song lists everything about how the ex ruined everything, like the end of the relationship, “Left with a pocket full of lies/ She was/ Lying and lying and lying.” Other issues include how “She always saying it’s my fault/ I think it’s kinda funny/ That she’s the one to start a fight/But she’ll still call me honey.” Even with the list of grievances, the song ends with the not-so-fun realization that “She always/ Ruins a good time/ But I might still love her.”
