Formed in a small town of Washington state, the Melvins were a huge part in the development of the sludge metal movement in the early eighties. Over the years, they’ve partnered with some major heavy-hitters, including Nirvana, Gene Simmons of Kiss, Primus, and much more throughout their careers as musicians.

This year, they released their latest LP, Working With God, and began a series of livestreams to reminisce on their lives on tour as shows still have yet to continue. And this weekend, they presented part one of their livestream series, each of which went live on holidays. Part one was introduced to the world on New Year’s Day, and part two was featured on Valentine’s Day.

This Saturday, part three was made live, “May Day! May Day! May Day!” and while it showcased their newest album, Working With God, and other hit tracks, each performance of the songs offered a dizzying acid trip of visuals, and behind the scenes looks of their life on tour. Each of them were decked out in rock and roll gear, tie dyed and bleached blazers, ripped up jeans, and band tees. And they talked of some of their favorite live show memories in between each song, the wildness of energy of the crowd, childhood memories watching Cheech and Chong, and how much they loved playing for an audience.

The stream is available until Saturday, May 11th. You can buy tickets to watch at the link here. Stream Melvins’ latest album, Working With God below, available on all streaming platforms:
