Maggie Miles Drops Electric New Single “Momentum”
Fans of alt-pop with a compelling instrumental full of exciting elements paired with mesmerizing vocals need to listen to Maggie Miles’ latest single, “Momentum,” right now.
“Momentum” is about the feeling of hope after dealing with a profound crisis of self and faith. Instrumentally, the distinct elements of the rumbling bass, crunching guitars, and soaring synths match perfectly with the power of Miles’ vocal performance.
The build-up to the song’s climax leads to a great payoff, especially with the repetition of the pre-chorus as Maggie Miles sings, “Losing sight of my purpose/ Hoping I can reach the surface/ Gravity is such a burden.” Miles’ vocals sound more desperate the more she repeats them until the chorus comes in with a roaring crash.

On the day of the single’s release, Miles also dropped the music video for “Momentum.” The video features various scenes where the artist is tied up and trapped in a green-lit room full of TVs showing nothing but static. After the first chorus hits, these scenes alternate between other shots of Miles alone in the woods, being chased by a mysterious hooded figure in white, along with shots of her and the band playing in the woods.
