madisyn Faces Rejection With Confidence In “missing out”

Anyone looking for a fun R&B track to ring in the new year must add madisyn’s “missing out” to their playlist.

“missing out” is about handling challenging emotions when facing rejection, maintaining self-confidence, and remembering one’s worth. This message is expressed over a fun-bass-heavy instrumental anyone could groove to in their car with friends or alone in their room. Vocally, madisyn’s tone is reminiscent of Jojo and Arianna Grande, so fans of R&B mixed with pop will love this track.

Listen to “missing out” below:

The lyrics tell the story of facing rejection, as the song begins with, “Ice blue eyes/ They’re a perfect disguise/ Had my head far beyond the sky/ Who’s to say it was all a lie.” The chorus articulates the time dedicated to getting a relationship to the next stage and how it can weigh on someone, “I tried to get you to see/ You’re gonna hear me/ Baby you couldn’t let me be/ Man I was flyin’ I was free.” Although the chorus starts with lamenting the disappointment of the relationship not going anywhere, it ends on a hopeful note as madisyn confidently sings, “So curious you couldn’t see/ What you were missing out/ And now you’re missing out.” With its fun beat and lyrics promoting self-confidence, madisyn’s “missing out” is the perfect song for anyone dealing with rejection.

A visualizer was released alongside the single, featuring an animated version of madisyn in a field of flowers at sunset. She twirls a four-leaf clover in her hand, referring to the lyric, “You pick me off like a four-leaf clover.”
