On October 26th, British indie rock band LUNAFALL released their new single, “Call It Off.” This track is reminiscent of the early work of The 1975, and I think that nostalgia will draw in a lot of people. The production is incredibly clean and pop-friendly, but the energy and heart behind the song isn’t lost at all.

The theremin synth at the end is my favorite part, honestly. It’s the right amount of “weird” for a song like this, and it brings to mind the mental craziness that goes on when you’re trying to figure out where you stand with a friend/lover. The lyrics are pretty straightforward, but the song is so catchy that it doesn’t really matter. Also, I mentioned the production before, but I didn’t specifically mention the drums on this thing. The production on the drums is so good. There’s the right amount of reverb to make it feel like the listener is in the room with the drummer without making it sound too muddy. Excellent drum production on this.
