On November 5th, British singer-songwriter Leo Aram-Downs released his new track, “Within Dreams.” Like the second coming of Bon Iver, Aram-Downs puts together a soothing track full of calming guitar, keyboard accents, and beautiful vocals. In a short two minutes and 26 seconds, he manages to call to mind most of the dream-pop artists who came before him, but in the best way possible.

At the start of the second verse, there is a talkbox. Talkboxes are incredible instruments, and Aram-Downs’ use of one further solidifies the point about Bon Iver. Really, this track goes through all four of Bon Iver’s albums in two and a half minutes. The talkbox calls to mind 22 A Million, and, much like Justin Vernon, it wouldn’t work if Aram-Downs didn’t have a solid voice to begin with. The vocals are amazing, the guitar work is sublime, and Leo Aram-Downs deserves to be on everyone’s radar.

“Within Dreams” is gorgeous and well worth anyone’s time. Be sure to check it out below and let us know what you think!
