Lost Leaders’ new single “Foolish Heart” is a thematic rock-Americana hit
Lumineers’ bassist Byron Isaacs and guitarist Peter Cole come together for their second single “Foolish Heart” off of their upcoming EP “Jealous Sun.” The new track begins as a smooth, low hum, but grows in its intensity throughout with hearty percussion lines and a country-rooted guitar. With expertly stacked harmonies and guitar riffs that feel like a wayward glance down a long dirt road, the indie-rock track is something of a cowboy hero’s lament.
Since the group’s first debut at Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble in 2012, Lost Leaders has been known for their softly intertwining vocal harmonies and atmospheric guitars. The modern indie-folk group takes influence from the roots of Americana and their own love for classic British records. This particular song they said “explores the familiar frustration of not knowing how to proceed in a relationship. Whether you’re a parent or a lover, that moment inevitably comes for us all.”

The upcoming EP is their first release through Amplify Entertainment Group. Their previous projects include their self-titled first album, which produced a successful radio track “I’m Gonna Win”, the catalyst in their journey of catapulting through years of hard-hitting new singles, EPs, and albums alike. Throughout their time on the scene, their sound has morphed from a pure, psychedelic-Americana sound into something of a more “hooky & synth-driven” sound, especially with such releases like their 2019 album Promises Promises.
