Releasing the third part of his Lost Desert & Friends EP series, the artist has collaborated with various artists: Lee Burridge for the track “My Time With You,” Junior Akwety for the main track “Mwinda,” Madraas and Sofiya Nzau for “Dwokire,” and finally, he concludes the EP with his solo production titled “Liebe Dich.”
“Mwinda” is a captivating eight-minute musical journey where Lost Desert’s soothing and uplifting production is beautifully complemented by Junior’s mystical vocals.
The song starts with a snare-type, brassy beat. Soon after, chords are added on, blending and smoothing out the rough edges of the song’s rhythm. The harmonies don’t follow the hard fall of each beat though, choosing to pour over and fade out. A few minutes in, Junior begins to sing what is Bantu language, spoken in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Mwinda, or “All Day I Dream,” is the perfect title. Listening to the track, fans will find themselves falling into a dream. The choice to sing in Bantu is unique and notable, but a choice that just makes sense artistically and musically. There is a sense of airiness and authenticity that floats— nothing about it is heavy or off.
Lost Desert has consistently made appearances at nightclubs and other performance venues, bringing his music and enthralling fans. From Audio San Francisco to Members Los Angeles and Do Not Sit On The Furniture, the artist has become an essential for any fun night out.
