LOOKING FOR A BREAK-UP ANTHEM? LORELEI MARCELL X HARDCASTLE GOT YOU COVERED

Listen, I get you break-ups are hard and they can get really messy. BUT, hear me out. Nothing and I really mean NOTHING slaps like a perfectly composed break-up song that hits you right in the feels and is so bitter-sweet in its relatability that you can completely let yourself dissolve in the music. IKYK.

“Flashbacks” by Lorelei Marcell X Hardcastle is giving exactly that. Just look at this line of lyrics “I get flashbacks of us, Yeah,I’m losing focus / In this crowded room but nobody’s you, Say I’m numb to the feeling.”. It has the emotional angst of putting yourself back out there and mingling in the crowd, it captures the remnants of attachment you have to your ex, this invisible chokehold that keeps you from embracing life again. I’m telling you, this is a sad girl/boy anthem that will be playing on repeat!

This track came to be after a night in Silverlake when Lorelei had bought tickets to see one of her favorite bands play in concert. She had been struggling to get over her ex at the time and was trying to incorporate more self-care and independent activities into her daily routine. But as soon as she arrived at the venue, an overwhelming sense of loneliness came over her, which caused her to leave the show before the headliner went on. Even though the room was packed, she had never felt more alone. No wonder the song just drips with raw emotions!

Besides writing to most relatable songs in existence, Philadelphia – born Lorelei has released her debut self-titled EP, Lorelei Marcell, and most recently, dropped her sophomore EP entitled Stranger (July 2022), which had singles featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlists, as well as countless other editorials across dsps. Lorelei’s music continues to defy both era and categorization. Lorelei’s music has been featured in Wonderland Magazine, LadyGunn, FLAUNT, and many more.

Originally from Nashville, TN, the newly LA based Hardcastle has had the opportunity to support popular bands like The Band CAMINO, Angels & Airwaves and K.Flay on tour.
