An Introduction to Houston Metal Project, Long Live The Lights, and Acoustic Single, “The Fight”

Formed in Houston by lead vocalist, Andre Decuba, and lead guitarist, Brendan McDowell, Long Live The Lights began writing their first self-titled EP shortly after finding bass player, Matt Fogarty, and their music began to fully take shape. Since then, they’ve arranged a diverse range of sound. Producer Kenny Gardner joined alongside them in 2020 and complimented their sound with guitar and electronics, which fully fleshed out their high-energy sound and intense instrumentals.

“The Fight,” as one of the more recent singles from the project, takes their sound in a wholly different direction. Honing in on stripped-back acoustics, the leading vocals shine in their own crisp display of emotion. Soaring through the soundscape, the lyrics hook the listener into a self-affirming message to continue to fight against the darkness. Strings harmonize with the acoustic guitar to tie the song together beautifully.

Listen to “The Fight” now, available on all listening platforms. Stay tuned for more info on Long Live The Lights!
