Billy Joel (NY Lullaby)” really does sound like a song that would be written by a band called Local Nomad. It articulates as a New York City native’s diary entry turned into song. Each lyrical phrase brings new insight to the city that never sleeps, particularly while it was quite literally sleeping during quarantine lockdowns. “Billy Joel” is a pandemic anthem, representing everything that is New York City.

“When I couldn’t sleep as a kid my mom used to play Vienna by Billy Joel, and so in 2020 I wrote myself a lullaby to cope with the state of the world.”

Local Nomad

Riding along the waves of traditional folk music while inviting new elements of the evolving future, Local Nomad has potential to touch anyone who stumbles across his music. Soulful vocals, playful synths, and driving drum beats mark his sound, and you can’t forget the narrative lyrics.
