Whether You’re Single or Taken, Lauren Spencer-Smith Releases an Angelic Christmas Tune Titled, “Single On The 25th”

Lauren Spencer-Smith sings the Christmas blues this holiday season with her new release titled, “Single On The 25th.” While most tend to get in the Christmas spirit, Spencer-Smith relates to those who end up alone on the 25th with an emotionally sincere song that will pull at your heartstrings. As a People’s Choice nominee for favorite new artist, it’s no surprise that Lauren knows how to give the people what they want – Christmas plus her voice? Angelic.

With a beautifully simplistic mix of piano and vocals, Lauren Spencer-Smith compliments the melody of the song with her effortless vocal range and genuine emotion. The American Idol singer resonates with many when she sings the chorus, “Maybe it’s the time of year / And how it brings up what I fear / I’m by myself / Wishin’ I had someone else / Wish the day would go away / So I never have to face what date it is / Cause I hate being single on the 25th.”

In each verse, Lauren talks of the disheartening reality she faces every year she remains single. Though she’s at the young age of nineteen, she’s no stranger to the forces of love (or lack of) that come every holiday season – giving those alone an overwhelming pang of grief and mourning for their truth. Of course, when there’s nothing but couples, families, and togetherness around you, it can be difficult not to let comparison creep in. In one of the verses, Lauren laments,

“Everyone has a baby now / They’re married or got engaged somehow / I know that love, it takes time / Don’t wanna wait my whole life / Praying for the love you see in the movies / Not asking for much just one.”

Not only does Lauren express her unwillingness to be alone during Christmas, she’s also expressing that she deeply wishes for the kind of love that lasts every Christmas. We feel you Lauren, and we know it’s coming for you! This stunning Christmas single is sure to put you in your feels in all the best ways, whether you’re single or taken. Her voice is effortlessly beautiful.
