KITTEN RELEASES ACOUSTIC VERSION OF “MEMPHIS”

Pop-rock weirdos KITTEN have just released an acoustic version of their 90s infused jam “Memphis” today.

“‘Memphis’ is a very special song to us, and there is a tenderness to the melody that we thought would shine in an acoustic adaptation. The result is cute, giggly, and a bit sad, just like me. I hope our fans enjoy this as much as they do the original,” says KITTEN frontwoman Chloe Chaidez.

KITTEN’s whirlwind last few months included the release of the Goodbye Honeymoon Phase EP (Another Century), a US tour supporting Waterparks, and the premiere of the Netflix series I’m With The Band: Nasty Cherry (which heavily features Chloe and the members of KITTEN). Fans can stay up-to-date on all things KITTEN by following the band on their socials.

“Memphis’ ‘ originally kicked off the Goodbye Honeymoon Phase EP, which also includes the futures-sk8r punk “ME” (co-produced with Mike Shinoda), “Goodbye Honeymoon Phase”. “Distraction”, and “Friday’s No Fun Anymore”.

If you’ve kept an eye on underground pop for the last half-decade, you’ve probably come across the name KITTEN; but it’s only recently that 24-year-old front-woman Chloe Chaidez has hit her stride as a songwriter and band leader. Last year’s Pink Champagne EP ushered in a new era for the group. Its songs, at once neurotic and euphoric, earned

praise from Rolling Stone, Stereogum, PAPER, The Fader, i-D, MTV, Nylon, and Idolator. Then, after a year of touring with artists such as Smashing Pumpkins, New Order, Girlpool, Hatchie, and Blue October, the band landed in Los Angeles, where they immersed themselves in a vibrant music scene and worked with everyone from groundbreaking newcomer Dorian Electra to Smashing Pumpkins’ James Iha. At the same time, Chaidez immersed herself in Nasty Cherry, a new project created by pop luminary Charli XCX. Writing and collaborating with Charli proved an invaluable learning experience, and left Chaidez eager to push her own musical boundaries. The result, KITTEN’s latest masterpiece Goodbye Honeymoon Phase.
