Written using a combination of English and Japanese lyrics, “Sweeter” is a love song about being happy and having fun with someone you love. Its central message is that you don’t have to be afraid of anything when you have someone you love by your side.

Even if the world ends Tomorrow

Even if aliens come to Earth

何も怖くないよ

because you’re by my side

Musically, “Sweeter” is an upbeat, EDM-esque track full of infectiously cheery vocals and shimmery synths. The song is dynamic and exciting, and features both tense buildups leading into the chorus and a piano-led breakdown. Its bright sound is an instant mood booster and makes for a song you can’t resist singing and dancing along to.

Listen to “Sweeter” below and keep an ear out for Kenichi Yamasaki’s next monthly single.
