As demand and praise continue since the premiere of “Katy Perry: Play”, the global superstar has officially confirmed new dates for her Resorts World Las Vegas residency. Initially, from December 29, 2021, to March 19, 2022, the popularity of the show welcomely pressured sixteen more appearances for the summertime. Currently, Perry is now scheduled to perform May 27 to June 11, 2022, as well as July 29 to August 13, 2022.

It’s all of my biggest dreams, because it’s larger than life, coming true… it’s just wild. It’s a combination of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids meets Pee-Wee’s Playhouse… It is a show you can really only see in Vegas because I could never bring a 30-foot toilet on the road. There would be no semi-truck that would hold it”

Full of bubblegum fluff and anthropomorphic household objects, the show is directed and choreographed by The Squared Division (who also created the event’s props and scenery. Overall divided into five acts, the entire performance brings out the child in any adult and is a boatload of fun for Katy Perry stans.

Alesso sent me “When I’m Gone” back when it was in a very different shape. That was a year ago… I get sent all kinds of crazy things all the time, whether it’s beats or fully-produced songs… and typically I’m like, “No thank you, god bless you on your journey.” With this one, the brakes stopped and I was like, “This is dope.”

Her residency also reveals the debut of her new single “When I’m Gone” in collaboration with Grammy-nominated producer and dance artist Alesso. Having performed the track on SNL as a musical guest, the possibility of a new album appears more than likely this year.
