KATE THORNBURY TAKES LISTENERS ON A JOURNEY WITH HER NEW SINGLE “NAPKINS”
Kate Thornbury releases her feminist anthem “Napkins” that showcases tender moments of a close relationship to the fury of heartbreak. The track starts off sunny and bouncy with a soundscape of guitars backed by compressed percussive acoustic chords that gives the song a little bit of an electric feel. “Napkins” is light with a golden feel but also holds the emotion of someone who has had their heart broken. Kate’s writing ability and process really shine throughout this single.

Everyone knows how it is when you see a cute little bar napkin, you just want to write a cute message on it and pass it to the hot guy or girl next you. That’s what this song plays upon, using those little napkins that helped brew a relationship, kicking off dreams hoping the sparks will last forever. It brings the track a sense of nostalgia but quickly shits to the bitterness of being scorned. The chorus hits with a punchy rhythm conveying feminine rage of just a relationship falling apart at the seams. Everything ties together perfectly and “Napkins” gives you a little bit of everything. Kate definitely hit the nail on the head with this track.
