Judas Priest have been announced as the band that will replace Ozzy Osbourne at Power Trip. The English heavy metal band will take Osbourne’s Oct. 7 slot and perform alongside ACDC on day two of the three-day music festival.

On joining the Power Trip lineup, the band shared:

“POWER TRIPPERS ARE YOU READY FOR SOME JUDAS PRIEST STYLE HEAVY METAL! WE ARE EXCITED AND READY TO RAISE DOUBLE HORNS WAY UP HIGH TOGETHER. KEEPING THE METAL FAITH AT THIS BOSTIN ONE OF A KIND POWER TRIP WORLD EVENT!”

The news comes after Osbourne shared a statement in which he informed fans he must cancel his Power Trip appearance for health reasons.

“Unfortunately, my body is telling me that I’m just not ready yet and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-assed,” Osbourne said.

He then addressed any concern festival goers may have about the band that’s replacing him.

“They are personal friends of mine and I can promise that you will not be disappointed,” Osbourne said about Judas Priest.

Judas Priest’s Power Trip performance will be the band’s first of 2023. Power Trip is set to take place Oct. 6-8 at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
