Bay Area vocalist and creative, Jen Janet, introduces listeners with a new track, “Headache, ” today.
With long-term industry experience as both a solo artist and frontwoman, she has toured all over the east coast with her previous rock bands, as well as opened in festivals for Amorphis, Motionless in White, Saving Abel, The Amity Affliction, and many more. She was nominated for best female vocalist for awards in New England, Rhode Island, and Worcester Massachusetts. Recently, the music video Janet produced and directed, “Possession” was recently nominated in the 2021 official selection for best music video, in the Venice Shorts Film Festival based in Los Angeles, California, and the Chicago Indie Film Festival. With her new solo project, Jen Janet strives to blend electronic, rock, and metal music together, while continuing to create evocative and haunting music videos to match.
“Headache” embodies the dark soul of Chelsea Wolfe from her “His Spun” era while offering a mesh of heavy rock and electronic instrumentals. The beginning of the track introduces its audience with dramatic instrumentals and theatrical strings. It then transitions into a haunting rock anthem with Janet’s illuminating vocals and heavy electric guitar. Beautifully produced, the tempo is intentional with each element throughout. The melody and lyrics send chills through the spine as it builds in intensity, then concludes with stripped-to-the-essentials vocals and soft piano.
The music video to match this single will be released on February 17th. Stay tuned for more updates, and stream “Headache,” available now on all streaming platforms:
