London-based producer ilan Blustone has had a whirlwind journey through the international dance music scene since bursting onto Anjunabeats back in 2012. He’s had a number of hit singles, well-received remixes, and an impressive array of career live performances at prestigious venues including London’s Wembley Arena, the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, and EDC Las Vegas. His productions continue to be a staple in Above & Beyond‘s DJ sets and gain frequent support from other international DJs, including Armin van Buuren, Axwell, and Seven Lions.

ilan continues to impress both fans and new listeners all over the world with his distinct blend of bass-driven grooves and uplifting synths. In preparation for releasing his second album, Impulse, which will be released in May 2021 on Anjunabeats, he recently released a dreamy house/trance single with a previous collaborator, vocalist Ellen Smith.

A relaxing synth-driven beat opens “Stranger To Your Love,” putting Ellen’s angelic vocals at the forefront of this track. About 30-seconds in, the beat starts to pick up and then we dive right into ilan’s signature progressive trance soundscape. Given that Impulse focuses on songwriting, this track showcases the central themes of love found then lost and attachment then disengagement. While the production of the track is hypnotically upbeat and the vocals are ethereally sweet, the lyrics are inherently wistful as they long for a return to previous feelings of love. The sounds are reminiscent of club nights that we all long for and the emotions conveyed may be all too familiar as well, making this track engagingly nostalgic.
