Hiatus Kaiyote will return to North America to tour their most recent album, Love Heart Cheat Code following the robbery of their studio in Preston, Victoria, Australia. This will be their second tour for the album, which was released on June 28, 2024.
The Aussie band, known for their psychedelic-funk and neo-soul, was “absolutely gutted” after their music equipment, confirmed to be worth thousands of dollars, was stolen. They shared the news in an Instagram post in mid-March, listing twenty missing items, including two guitars, two Roland JX-3Ps, and an SP-404 “loaded” with the band’s samples.

The band urged Melbourne locals to “Please keep your eyes out” for the equipment and to contact them immediately if anyone found the gear for sale.
Although there have been no updates regarding the missing items, the “Everything’s Beautiful” band is not letting this dim their light. Starting August 12, the band will return to the U.S., kicking off their tour in Lititz, PA, and ending on September 4 in Las Vegas, NV.
In a post shared to Instagram on March 11, they stated,
“WE WILL REBUILD. Having a bunch of our sh*t stolen will NOT stop us from bringing the heat to YOU, people of America! That’s right, we are going back on tour through the USA, and no amount of thieving c*nts can stop us! ~ Hiatus Kaiyote
And no album radiates that optimism more than Love Heart Cheat Code. With an ever-present sound of summertime, sparked with punk, the album possesses an undeniable aura of positivity. One that beams through its lyrics and instrumentals.
Despite the loss of their equipment, Hiatus Kaiyote has not lost their spirit. Once again, using music to foster community above all else. This tour will be a celebration of that shared adoration for sound and the work behind it. In the end, honoring the equipment that’s helped create some of their most unforgettable projects.
