Yesterday, ODESZA had some big news for their fans. The wildly popular electronic duo, who wrapped up their world tour for A Moment Apart last summer, announced a surprise collaboration with Golden Features. And not only did they announce this collaboration, but they also announced they have already finished a full-length album under the name BRONSON.
Golden Features is a deep house/dance DJ from Australia who has been in the scene since 2013. His latest project prior to this was released last year with The Presets. He also has a number of remixes, including songs by Porter Robinson, ODESZA, and Flume.
The trio released their first two singles from the album today – “HEART ATTACK” and “VAULTS” – and it’s easy to see the influences from each artist within these songs.
“HEART ATTACK” features a catchy dance beat with emotional lyrics from lau.ra. The deep bass will get you up and moving, but if you pay attention to the lyrics, they provide another layer to the song that may make you more emotional…which is a paradox all too familiar to us from these artists.
“VAULTS” is a darker, glitchy instrumental piece with minimal vocals. ODESZA‘s signature percussive elements are notable, but Golden Features brings his distortion techniques to create a broody feeling within listeners.
Both songs are available on all streaming platforms and the full album will be available on July 17th. If these songs are any indication of what is to come, we can’t help but be excited!
