The band has been working on completing the final songs they recorded with Andy and the first track, “Good Time,” that released on October 27th of this year.

“I wish that we could stay right here forever/I wish that we could stay right here together,” is a line that Dirty Heads’ Duddy added to “Good Time” after Chaves’ passing, a layer of poignance hovering over the otherwise upbeat dance party track. The late singer’s vocals on the three other tracks were all culled from existing demos.

“The chorus to ‘Good Time’ was written just a couple of days before Andy died,” confirms drummer Andrew Stravers, whose garage was where the band first formed. “The day after his death, I remember sitting on a golf course listening to that demo, trying to process it. Five months later, Duddy and Jared [Watson] were back helping us finish it with that lyric. That’s when I had to leave the room.”

“Good Time” is a collaborative effort between the band Katastro and Jared Watson and Duddy B from Dirty Heads. Katastro, an alternative rock band from Arizona, and Dirty Heads, a reggae-rock outfit from California, joined forces to create this unique and memorable track. The synergy between the two bands is apparent in the song, as their distinct styles blend seamlessly, resulting in a refreshing and genre-defying sound.

The song “Good Time” opens with a laid-back, reggae-infused melody that sets the mood for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. The rhythm is characterized by catchy guitar riffs and a groovy bassline that gives the song its irresistible charm. The vocals, delivered with a carefree swagger, paint a vivid picture of a perfect day spent soaking up the sun. The lyrics are all about leaving your worries behind and living in the moment, capturing the essence of a good time.

The lyrics of “Good Time” revolve around the theme of escapism and the pursuit of happiness. They encourage listeners to let go of their troubles and embrace the joy of living for the moment. Lines like “We don’t wanna worry, let’s forget our problems” and “We can leave our worries all behind” reflect the carefree spirit of the song, urging everyone to enjoy life to the fullest.
