In the ever-growing and changing landscape of EDM, standing out requires more than just making music. Canadian producer and DJ, Guest Who, not only understands this but embraces the challenge with a distinct blend of UK house, jackin’ house, and tech house. Hailing from Calgary, Guest Who has recently made waves with another partnership with the electronic duo FOOTWURK, resulting in “Mi Corazón.” The single not only secured a spot on Beatport’s “Tech House Top 100,” but also showcased his prowess in the realm of underground tech house and melodic sounds.

Released on October 27th, the single follows the success of Guest Who’s summer anthem, “Deserve It All,” a collaborative effort with Control Room under the Groove Basement label. “Mi Corazón” quickly made its mark on the charts, peaking at the #71 spot on Beatport’s “Tech House Top 100” shortly after its release.

“Mi Corazón” is a testament to the refined craftsmanship that Guest Who has honed over the last decade. The track features his signature foot-shuffling bass lines, throbbing beats, and seductive synths, creating a high-energy atmosphere that effortlessly merges classic house sounds with modern electronic components. FOOTWURK’s meticulous attention to detail and expert production elevate the track to being a newfound club classic, earning it a well-deserved spot on TERMINAL UNDERGROUND’s HOUSE PARTY 2023 and further solidifying its presence in Beatport’s competitive “Tech House Top 100.”

One of the most unique aspects of the song is its groovy, melodic nature. The beat drop is not just a brief moment of anticipation, but a carefully crafted climax that builds with dramatic flair. The seamless shift into an entirely different tempo and techno instrumentation perfectly encapsulates Guest Who’s versatility and innovative production. The repeated sample, when translated, simply says what seems to be Guest Who’s truth: “Techno house, in my heart.”

Mi Corazón” is the third collaboration of ours. The track started off a different direction, and was more of a slower type of tech house tune. We then scratched that idea and decided to swap out the bass for something faster – techno-like. We knew we needed catchy vocals and so we got some vocals recorded by my girlfriend. It fit perfectly and the track was almost there. After playing around with some lead sounds we accidentally came across a sound we found in serum and pitched it up and down. The lead is literally two notes but it meshed so well with everything else. Thus, Mi Corazón was born.

Guest Who

Over the years, Guest Who has played sets at renowned venues such as The Palace Theatre and The Hifi Club, participating in lineups alongside esteemed artists like Gareth Emery and Chris Lake. His tracks, released on respected labels including Thrive, TurnItUp Muzik, and House of Hustle, have garnered support and respect from leading industry figures such as Tiësto, Showtek, and David Guetta.

“Mi Corazón” can be found on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud.
