Going Down the “Rabbit Hole” in NoVI’s Newest Single
Today sees the release of NoVI’s newest sinlge “Rabbit Hole.” The track is a novelty style song about conspiracy theories and, as said best, ‘going down the rabbit hole.’ This follows previous releases such as her most recent EP “FAST!,” a collection of 1-2 minute songs that throws the confining rules of genre out the window.
NoVI, aka Carolyne Neuman, is a quickly emerging songstress whose creative passion radiates through everything she does. An Oregon native, NoVI got her start in comedy and improvisation, a skillset that allows her to create with a speed, sincerity, and cleverness few possess. Her music has been featured on numerous shows across MTV, CW, Netflix, and more. It has also garnered millions of streams, and she has been featured on major playlists on both Spotify and Apple Music.
This track is unapologetically NoVI’s view on the many things going on in our world right now. “Rabbit Hole” as a song overall is incredibly unique in its alt pop sound being that it utilizes many musical elements to make it’s composition fun and engaging to listen to. Starting with jingling bells and echoey vocals then shifting into a heavier bass beat, NoVI shares her observations of recent happenings, some examples being the Coronavirus and burning forests. Her opinions are expertly stated in a single line, “time is teaching and no one’s learning,” which definitely holds truths when looking at news headlines published in recent years.
Here it is clearly acknowledged that the good ol’ days are over, the “purple haze” is long gone and now we have no choice but to face the reality that is falling upon us. Opinions are shared so openly due to, as the lyrics best articulate, “don’t want to live in fear, we have quite to many tears, everybody’s human here.” If you’re looking for a song that truly embodies the ‘no-filter realness’ kind of vibe, then look no further than here, as “Rabbit Hole” can provide you with just that and much more.
