Here are our daily picks for you featuring Maz, GloRilla, Tobacco City and more!
1. “Kiss Kiss Boom” – Maz
Bringing the boom is “Kiss Kiss Boom,” a mesmerizing indie pop single by Utah-based songwriter Maz. Layered with intricate synth drops, groovy bass riffs and contagious vocal hooks, this track is sure to get your head nodding and feet tapping. “I wrote this song while going through the intense and conflicting emotions of getting back with an ex,” Maz shares. “I love the contrast with the idea of a bomb going off lyrically while the beat itself is so mellow.” Looking ahead, the 22-year-old has announced the release of her debut EP, NPC, out April 4, 2025.
2. “Black Masses” – Adam Lytle
Captivating listeners from the first bass hit, “Black Masses” by indie rock artist Adam Lytle intertwines riveting storytelling with a reverb-heavy groove. “Black Masses is a parable,” Lytle explains. “A time-worn story of how the power-hungry use violence and religious fervor to achieve what they feel is their divine right to lead.” If these themes capture your attention, stay on the lookout for his upcoming 11-track album, Altars!
3. “Me, Timbers” – Elle Belle
Los Angeles-based band Elle Belle continues our reign of infectious indie hits with their latest hit, “Me, Timbers.” Featuring 2BAD, the new release showcases the band’s ability to fuse together soft percussion hits, atmospheric pads and layered vocal harmonies. “You won’t take me alive / but I know you have to try,” the band sings. 5. “Bougainvillea” – Tobacco City
Heartfelt and instrumentally expansive, “Bougainvillea” by Chicago country band Tobacco City closes out our selection with a message of past memories. “It’s another nostalgia trip about the time in your younger years when you are free to be stupid and silly with very little consequence,” shares lead vocalist Chris Coleslaw. “Those days of excess were wild and illuminating but eventually times have to keep changing but the view from the heights of those times never changes.” Keep your eyes open for Tobacco City’s sophomore album drop, Horses, out March 7, 2025.
