Here are our daily picks for you featuring Sam Fender, Palmyra, HEARTS APART and more!

1. “I Hate The Summer” – HEARTS APART

Starting off today’s fresh hits with a bang is “I Hate The Summer,” a punk-filled, rock ‘n roll single by Vicenza-based band HEARTS APART. The track’s infectious nature is amplified by an electrifying call-and-response chorus, head-nodding electric guitar riffs and explosive percussion hits. “‘I Hate The Summer’ is a song that encapsulates much of what Hearts Apart is about: punk rock, desperation, rock’n’roll, sadness, fun, nerdy vibes, irony, failure,” the band shares. “Yes, we believe you can sweat away the darkness by dancing and crying at the same time, and this song is perfect for that.” Coming up soon, HEARTS APART fans are anticipating their next EP, “Summer Bummer,” set for release Feb. 28, 2025.

2. “People Watching” – Sam Fender

Up next is “People Watching,” a captivating and deeply nostalgic indie rock song by English singer-songwriter Sam Fender. Reflective at its core, the new single delves into the tension of feeling disconnected from the world while yearning for genuine human connection. “I people-watch on the way back home / Envious of the glimmer of hope / Gives me a break from feeling alone,” Fender sings, his emotional vocals deepening the song’s introspective nature. “People Watching” serves as the title track for the 30-year-old artist’s third album, People Watching, out today via Capitol Records.

3. “Life on the Line” – The Walters

Chicago, Illinois-based quartet The Walters have released “Life on the Line,” an indie-pop sensation exploring the reality of betting it all in a relationship. “Whether it’s Mars, whether it’s Manhattan / I’d go to the ends of anywhere for this to happen,” the band sings, their heartfelt vocals layered with steady percussion hits and melodic electric guitar riffs. Set your calendars for March 28, 2025 because The Walters are preparing to release their 12-track debut album, Good Company. Kicking off on the same day, the band will embark on a tour across North America. Find ticket information here.

4. “Shape I’m In” – Palmyra

With an air of introspection and acceptance, Virginia trio Palmyra share their vulnerable new single, “Shape I’m In.” The track was written as a way for band member Sasha Landon to make sense of their bipolar diagnosis. A minimalistic arrangement, featuring subtle acoustic and banjo guitar pluckings intertwined with resonant cello basslines, contributes to the song’s intimate feel. Palmyra submitted “Shape I’m In” for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert back in 2024, leading to their recognition as one of the “Best New Artists” of the year. It can also be found on their forthcoming debut album, Restless, set for release on March 28, 2025.

5. “American Pie” – Sierra Spirit

Oklahoma-born, Native American artist Sierra Spirit returns to the main stage with her newest indie-folk release, “American Pie.” Instrumentally, the song combines warm basslines with subtle keys to complement Spirit’s passion-infused vocals. “‘American Pie’ is a reflection on the American dream and the uncertainty of this point in time,” she explains. “We all want our own little slice of it but we take what we can get and we take it as it is.”

From nostalgic indie hits to energizing punk rock singles, today’s selection has it all. Keep your eyes open for future album releases from this unique group of artists!
