Kick-off your Friday with these new hits from Cheyenne Giles, Babyfangs and Eli Brown!
1. “Warp 1.9” – longstoryshort
Starting off strong, longstoryshort released “Warp 1.9,” their own take on The Bloody Beetroots’ iconic “Warp 1.9 (Feat. Steve Aoki)” via Dim Mak. The rave remix makes use of heavy instrumental distortion to literally “warp” its sound and emphasize those classic electro themes found in the late 00’s. “‘Warp 1.9’ came out around the time I first got into electronic music, and it had the most infectious punk rock attitude of any dance track I had ever heard,” said longstoryshort. “It’s an honor to remix it, as this record played a big part in my journey into dance music.”
2. “Nightcap” – Cheyenne Giles
Cheyenne Giles‘ exhilarating new tech-house single, “Nightcap,” is a tribute to the hypnotic time of night that leaves dancefloor-lovers begging for more. “With Nightcap, I wanted to capture the carefree spirit of late-night escapism—that feeling of losing yourself in the night, where time slows down and the music pulls you in,” said Cheyenne. “It’s playful, nostalgic, and a little bit of cheeky, blending lighthearted fun with the unpredictability of a night out. My hope is that it becomes a soundtrack for those moments where nothing else matters but the vibe, the beat, and the company you’re with.”
3. “Poison” – OBS, CERES
Next up is “Posion,” a catchy, tech-infused single by OBS and CERES released Sept. 13, 2024. Defined by propulsive synths and riveting basslines, the collaborative project brings the best out of the two electronic sensations. “‘Poison’ is inspired by the feeling of wanting to party but also being unsure about diving in,” explained CERES. “The track captures this push and pull, blending upbeat, feel-good melodies with deeper, moodier tones. It’s a mix of fun and reflection, offering a vibe that makes you want to dance while also thinking about life’s ups and downs.”
4. “Feelings Bleed” – Babyfangs
Babyfangs has released her debut single, “Feelings Bleed,” a song that was inspired by her year-long stay at a Utah treatment center for “troubled teens.” With so much controversy surrounding the abusive practices of these centers, the track explores ideas of running away from both the center itself and the feelings it left. “I think writing this song was the closure I needed, I never felt like the program cared about me therefore I shouldn’t care about it anymore,” Babyfangs says. The accompanying music video for “Feelings Bleed” finds the Memphis-born LA musician playing in nature to emphasize her connection with wildlife.
5. “Crawling” – Eli Brown
“Crawling” by Eli Brown closes out today’s list with contagious beats and haunting lyrics about overcoming the depths of one’s inner thoughts. Energy is certainly evident, showcasing a determination that cannot be silenced. On Aug. 30, 2024, Brown made history as the first ever techno artist to play at Rockefeller Center. He continues to make his name known in the electronic music community, with over three million monthly listeners and 254 million cumulative streams. With the weekend so close, there’s no excuse to not dance to this new blend of house and techno.
