Take a trip to pop paradise with AleXa, Kiesza and more!

1. “sick” – AleXa

The long-awaited track from Korean solo artist AleXa, past winner of NBC’s American Song Contest fame, comes “sick”. The song is an ode to early 2000s pop, with a catchy track detailing the reluctance to stay in a seemingly fine partnership. The music video feels fight club reminiscent, showing AleXa’s edge and hesitancy for healthy love.

2. “i don’t really feel it anymore” – glaive

glaive takes listeners through a dreamy mood, with its hauntingly beautiful atmosphere in “i don’t really feel it anymore”. It feels 2000s-emo in its stylistic choice, combined with his signature pop flair for a new complexion of emotion. glaive gives a glimpse into his inner world with the track, inviting listeners to a deeper perspective of his artistry.

3. “baby’s out of luck again” – april june

A hazy infusion of bedroom and dream pop, “baby’s out of luck again” is a deeper dive into april june‘s nihilistic viewpoint of romantic relationships. The track is reflective nonetheless, amazingly so with its fuzzy singing technique and surfer-rock style guitar playing. The video feels as if you’re watching a classic rom-com/crime film, a perfect execution for the teetering-on-toxic lyricism heard throughout.

4. “Dirty Laundry” – Joseph Luca

Joseph Luca‘s earnest singing heard immediately is enchanting, helping listeners get lost in the musings of “Dirty Laundry”. The intoxicating allure of the track exudes seduction, the singer’s smooth delivery surrounding the listener. The song is an enrapturing blend of passion and mystery, with an aquatic video that supports the song’s vision of making listeners feel as if they’re drifting.

5. “Dancing and Crying” – Kiesza

Closing out our playlist is the mesmerizing sounds of “Dancing and Crying” by Kiesza. This emotionally charged track combines soulful vocals with haunting melodies, offering a cathartic release for the heart and soul.
