Malóne, a quickly rising underground hero of afro-latin house, has teamed up with renowned maestro Stephan Jolk for the exciting new single “El Vento.” Jolk, known for his careful craft of emotionally-charged techno, has the perfect repertoire of spiraling melodies and subtly evolving layers for this duo. Malóne is a resident at Club Space Miami, stunning with recent releases on Saved, Abracadabra, Get Physical, and more. Released via the legendary Watergate Records, this release is making big moves in latin techno with its melodic afro house flare.
Meaning “The Wind,” “El Vento” opens with swift and airy vocals. Quickly, a speedy drum beat catches the melody and launches into a world of instrumental accompaniment and a pummeling beat. Ambient piano is layered in and out of the background, crescendos and decrescendos to keep a distinct balance of hype and fluidity on the track. The drumline is sure to keep your hips in line, and the overarching synth toward the middle brings the rest of the body to live, futuristic and fresh. Its rolling rhythm repeats certain elements and keeps others consistent, forming a well blended, well thought out musical trajectory. The notes are inspiring, fun-loving, and forward-moving: the perfect trio for a delectable night of house music.

Stephen Jolk released his EP The Silence this year, following up just as strong with his contributions on “El Vento.” Malóne has been working his portfolio up to an impressive bout of singles and releases, including “Elegante,” “Don’t Look Back “ (feat. Riveron), “Home” (feat. MAXI MERAKI, Starving Yet Full), and Sinfonia (feat. Calussa) this year. The two have come together to bring us something great, full of ear-pleasing beats that are sure to keep you dancing.
