GERT TABERNER REALEASES HEARTFELT BREAKUP SINGLE “HANNAH”
Gert Taberner spent the last few years going through the motions and hadn’t written a singles up until a few months before his father passed in May of 2020. After going through these hard times, Gert created his tragically dark but beautiful EP “As Good As You Thought We Might Be” and “Hannah” is a featured single. “Hannah” is a soft indie folk track that goes through all the feels on simply falling out of love with someone.
“Hannah is one of my favorite songs that I’ve written. It’s my take on falling out of love and the resentment (not just towards that person but also yourself) that sets in when the trust goes.”

Gert’s telling the story of how everything sets in during these times; what could I have done differently? Why isn’t this working? Really sitting with yourself and feeling every emotion deeply. “Hannah” starts off slow and quiet then picks up to a more upbeat sound but still keeping that heartfelt emotion through the song. Gert does an awesome job with the lyrics really getting you invested in the relationship between “Hannah” and him. Not overwhelming sappy, but just enough to be relatable and honest.
