Katy Perry is collaborating with Gap for a 2021 holiday campaign which will feature her rendition of The Beatles’ classic “All You Need Is Love.” Katy Perry’s rendition of “All You Need Is Love” is a stellar concoction of soothing melodies and a serene voice.
Gap will be spreading a lot of love this holiday season. For every stream of the new track “All You Need Is Love” covered by Katy Perry on Spotify, Gap will donate $1; a total sum of around $100,000, will be donated to Baby2Baby – a nonprofit that has been supported by Katy for a very long time. Baby2Baby provides children who live in poverty with all the basic necessities they require and deserve.
In an Instagram post, Perry remarked that this ad marks a full-circle moment for her. “From folding sweatshirts at the Santa Barbara Gap to 20 years later, starring in a @markromanek-directed holiday campaign dreams do come true!” she wrote. The singer also added that all the revenue from the song will be contributed to the organization Baby2Baby. “Starting today, Gap is donating $1 per @spotify stream of my version of the song featured in the Gap ad — up to $100,000 USD — to support @baby2baby’s mission to provide basic essentials to children living in poverty across the country,” Perry wrote.
This Gap campaign which features Perry will showcase quite a number of classics from the fashion retailers, in addition to their holiday flannel, fleece sets, pajamas, and loungewear.
Perry herself is a long time fan of The Beatles, she said “All You Need Is Love” is the song everyone needs right now, and refers to it as “the definition of life, and what we are all looking for, especially during the holidays.”
