“pillow wet” is full of longing for what could have been while working to push beyond it all. The newest release by French dream pop duo Fleur bleu·e, “pillow wet,” is the soundtrack for when you crave change. It’s the ultimate meditative listen, an introspective look into all the tears and pain that come with the search for healing.
Delphine Lucy Lam and Vlad Swann create an ethereal atmosphere in this single. In an airy, immersive soundscape, “pillow wet” includes a gentle, soothing quality with a touch of shoegaze influence. Swirling instrumentals and hazy vocals contribute to a wistful, melancholic track.
What if I stopped being locked and scared of myself
(Take the time that you never had)
I want to find my way out, give me some peace of mind

The music video for “pillow wet” transports viewers to a liminal space. The self-directed video evokes a nostalgic, home-video feel. It’s like watching a parallel dream world or returning to your childhood. Fleur bleu·e said the video is set in Vlad Swann’s birthplace, Sofia, Bulgaria. Swann connects “pillow wet” to his childhood, where Mount Vitosha is a motif for a stable healing source.
The Paris-based duo drew inspiration for its name from the French expression, referring to an extreme sentimentalism or hopeless romantic quality, naive and disconnected from reality. Also, Fleur bleu·e’s usage of the dot character includes both the masculine and feminine forms to extend past the gender binary.

“pillow wet” leads a self-produced two-track single created in honor of the duo’s upcoming tour. In 15 stops across the U.S. West Coast this summer, Fleur bleu·e will bring its dreamy magic to the stage. Tickets and tour dates are available here.
