Exclusive Premiere: The haunting beauty of XATIVA’s latest single “Here With Me”

Clashing piano keys meet resolution, a sense of closure amidst past hurt, and already the magnitude of “Here With Me” is evident from the first few seconds. XATVIA’s voice enters soon after the haunting introduction, angelic and layered in harmony, and her lyrics begin to paint a vivid picture of the fragility of love, feelings, memories, and moments changing in our minds the more we think about them. These are the themes of “Here With Me,” a song that finds strength in its innate intimacy, the kind of powerful simplicity that haunts.

The imagery of missing someone, memories of the ocean water, and always feeling love for a special person invokes a sense of nostalgia, solidifying the track even more in its power through vulnerability. The second single released ahead of her upcoming EP ‘Fly Away’, XATIVA dubs this latest track as a marker of calm amidst the heavy sadness that is the rest of the songs on the project. “In the song, XATIVA considers how when we miss someone, we might take courage in the reassurance that although they might not be physically near, the idea of them remains always close.” A Swedish-Ecuadorian singer-songwriter, XATIVA is currently based out of London. The musician and classically trained vocalist tends to mesh a variety of sounds in her music from traditional and contemporary, Latin and acoustic influences, and even elements from jazz and alternative R&B.
