Excision and Sullivan King Join Forces on “Fall Apart”
Exclusion and Sullivan King get together on “Fall Apart”, a song that combines elements of both nu metal and dubstep. This marks the fourth collaboration between the two long term friends and musicians. Other previous collaborations include the song Wake Up. The two have also done a live set at Lost Lands in 2022.
The song is one that many fans have been wanting ever since the two performed together at Lost Lands. A year following that performance, their wishes were finally granted as the two combined to give us “Fall Apart”. The song opens with an ominous guitar. The instrumental is a mashup of various elements, and we are often left wondering what could possibly come next. The guitar is followed up with an intensive metal inspired beat drop, a cross between the dubstep and metal that the two artists are involved in. The lyrics deal with heartbreak and agony, in particular the anguish that is often felt by holding onto desperate feelings and thoughts for way too long.
The music video is animated and mainly features a skeleton holding onto a singular blue balloon. We see the structures behind him- grand castles of marble. The music video shows him walking alone- the anguish he is feeling clear to the viewers.
Exclusion has built up a sizeable reputation in the Bass music scene and is now heralded as one of the more prominent figures of the dubstep community. Sullivan King is a DJ and metal musician, who has garnered attention and praise for his unique mashup of EDM centric music with classic guitar playing. Sullivan King is set to head out on his Throne of Blood tour, which is his biggest tour so far. For more of the two, be sure to check out their socials, which are given below!
