Escaping to a World of Ecstasy “In Dreams”
Released today by Ned Moss, “In Dreams” tells the story of a man stuck in a monotonous daily regime in which his only escape comes from his dreams. Tinged with 80’s synths and 00’s hooks, this song is a melancholic anthem that many can relate the repetitive parts of their daily lives to.
Moss is a young guitarist and singer/songwriter from London. He studied at the Purcell School of Music for seven years and is now pursuing a career to become an established artist. He takes influence from artists such as John Mayer, Nick Drake, Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix. This single follows other releases such as the pleasantly upbeat “Fading Out,” and a reflective piece titled “So Much More,” both of which were released in 2022.

Just from its introduction, “In Dreams” immediately presents charm in its nostalgic beats and a clearly thought out composition. The first minute goes through the normality of a unchanged daily schedule, one that has become boring, and more tedious in continuing to live through. Later shows a fully recognizable solemness in how the protagonist has a strong desire to be asleep rather than awake, as it is the only place where they are able to be carefree. It’s a feeling that we have all felt once before, the stress of living in mediocrity and the easy choice of avoiding reality in a place of dreams. With an added electric guitar solo and other unique elements sprinkled throughout the track, “In Dreams” holds strong when compared to other releases by Moss, and deserves your listening ears.
The single is now available on Spotify and Soundcloud, and more from Ned Moss can be viewed through his Instagram and Facebook.
