Ephemerist releases single “destroydestroy”
Ephemerist is a new self-produced alternative metal project from Midwest native Chase Coy. Inspired by acts like Loathe, Spiritbox, Sleep Token, and Currents, Coy deftly explores the topics of life, death, love, loss, and growth with high-energy songs that are equal parts aggressive and hauntingly beautiful.
“destroydestroy” is the second single from artist/producer Chase Coy under the project name Ephemerist. Previously an Americana artist and singer/songwriter signed to Universal and Sony/ATV, this self-released, independent project explores an entirely new palette of sound for the music industry vet. Mixing raw screaming vocals and pounding guitar lines with soaring choruses and catchy melodies, Ephemerist straddles a fine line, incorporating elements of deathcore, swancore, metalcore, and even pop. An EP and further collaborations are already on their way (coming summer and fall of 2023) and Coy shows no signs of slowing down.
Starting strong with a heavy guitar riffs and echo-y keyboard effects, “destroydestroy” brings aggressive and raw energy, creating a tumultuous sonic landscape that mirrors the chaos of human emotions. Ephemerist’s evocative vocals further amplify the song’s impact, conveying a sense of anguish and vulnerability. “DestroyDestroy” explores themes of inner turmoil, personal struggle, and the destructive tendencies that can consume us. With poetic depth, Ephemerist paints a vivid picture of the darkness that resides within the human psyche, inviting listeners to confront their own demons.
