Emmrose Premieres Politically-Charged Single “Brave New World”

Yesterday morning, indie-pop artist Emmrose premiered her newest single “Brave New World”.

With haunting and beautiful lyrics written by Emmrose, “Brave New World” is a commentary piece on the unprecedented times we have faced as a nation for the last several years. The single had been inspired by the mass amounts of disinformation and conspiracy theories that overtook the United States during the previous presidential election. Drawing inspiration from novels such as George Orwell’s 1984 and Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, Emmrose’s “Brave New World” is a stunning baroque-pop ballad that encapsulates the dystopian state of our country.

Producer Mike Abiuso of Behind the Curtains Media had been integral to helping Emmrose materialize her vision for an orchestral-inspired production.

“I was playing around with some chords and doing a little arpeggio, and I just had the verse melody pop into my head. I wrote about one of the books I was reading at the time in one sitting. When I came into the studio- I only had the bones of the song, just the chords, melody, and lyrics”, said Emmrose. “My producer Mike Abuiso created the epic, cinematic sound that is heard in “Brave New World”.

“Brave New World” begins dreamy and brooding, gradually swelling with emotion and intensity as the song progresses. Emmrose’s pleading, angelic vocals only add to the passion exhibited by Abuiso’s track. According to Emmrose, a huge inspiration behind “Brave New World” was Radiohead’s “Street Spirit (Fade Out)”. Both songs share a similar existential sorrow -searching for an answer to the shortcomings of society.

“…I just love the way the guitar sounds in that song. Mike and I frequently use Radiohead as a reference point with production starting points for my recordings” says Emmrose.

You can listen to “Brave New World” and follow Emmrose’s upcoming projects on SoundCloud, TikTok, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
