DEMI LOVATO IS BACK WITH THEIR EIGTH STUDIO ALBUM “HOLY FVCK” COMING AUGUST 19
Global superstar Demi Lovato is BACK! Demi is dropping a new album going back to their pop-punk roots. This eight album has us really excited for the release on August 19, 2022. Demi released her last album Dancing with the Devil…The Art of Starting Over in 2021, which had a completely different music tone. If was soft, a reborn sense, full of lullaby melodies. They also had a YouTube series tied into this album and it was very deep. Highly recommend watching if you haven’t already. This new album however, is the exact opposite and it’s perfectly titled HOLY FVCK. Before the album comes out in August, Demi released a single called “Skin of My Teeth” and it gives the perfect setup of what to expect from this 16 track album. The HOLY FVCK tour will kick off August 13, 2022.
If you have been a Demi fan since their Disney days (Camp Rock three anyone?) then you know that pop-punk Demi was EVERYTHING! The Remember December singer really showcases a dark aggressive voice in “Skin of My Teeth.” Drawing inspiration from their rock-infused studio albums Don’t Forget and Here We Go Again, Demi tapped into their rehab journey and what is was like fighting for their life to see another day. Demi suffered from three strokes and a heart attack lucky to be alive. The song portrays how Demi is thankful to still be after the reaper knocked on their door. Fighting their disease, drowning in it but never giving up. They state how they can’t believe they’re not dead and we are very happy that Demi is alive to bless our ears with more music. Right off the bat, we have electric guitar and heavy drumming with Demi spewing out killer vocals. Personally loving the bridge of this track leading into the final chorus.
“I’m just trying to keep my head above water. I’m your son and I’m your daughter. I’m your mother, I’m your father. I’m just a product of the problem. I’m alive by the skin of my teeth. Won’t you try and have some mercy on me? Asking why doesn’t make it easier. Go easier on me. Goddamn it, I just want to be free but I can’t ’cause it’s a f*cking disease.”
Skin of My Teeth Official lyrics.
Demi has always been very vocal about their mental health, addiction, sexuality and many topics that are usually taboo. Using their music to reach out and connect to fans worldwide. It has been a long time since Demi has done a pop-punk album, I am not sure if 16 songs are enough to feel satisfied with this Demi Era.
“The process of this album has been the most fulfilling yet, and I’m grateful to my fans and collaborators for being on this journey with me. Never have I been more sure of myself and my music, and this record speaks that for itself. To my Lovatics who have been rocking out with me since the beginning and those who are just now coming along for the ride, thank you. This record is for you.”
Can’t wait to hear the new album and hopefully score tickets to see them on tour.
