Demi Lovato and Vevo Release Live Performance of “FREAK” For Vevo’s Official Live Performance Series
Demi Lovato and Vevo partnered together to release live performances of songs from Lovato’s latest album HOLY FVCK, and they recently dropped the video for “FREAK.” It features Lovato dressed in what can be described as a “punk pirate” style, with a flowy white shirt, chains, and leather, commanding the red-lit stage as her band rocks out with her.

Demi explains why she wanted to release live performances of the songs from HOLY FVCK, stating that,
“HOLY FVCK is a deeply personal journey that begins with pain and anger, and through this emotional release, the album concludes in a hopeful place of joy that allows me to take my power back from the very things that made me angry. I knew I wanted to showcase my new music in a unique way for my fans, both visually and sonically. So when an Original Live Performance with Vevo was on the table, I immediately started to brainstorm creatively – the lighting, the room design, my look, and outfits, how to incorporate our incredible female live band – all of it! The Vevo team made this vision a reality with me, and I hope my fans can feel the emotion and power through these live performances.”
The performance’s look and style perfectly line up with the rawness and anger in the lyrics of “FREAK,” as Lovato sings about the experience of handling her own personal issues as the world watches. The song gets right into it, with Lovato singing, “Pinch me, singe me, inch me to the edge/ Prod me, laud me, ungodly but heaven sent/ Get your tickets to the freak show, baby/ Step right up to watch the freak go crazy.” Lovato already released two live performances with Vevo for the tracks “29” and “Eat Me” ft. Royal and The Serpent. The live performance for “Happy Ending” also dropped recently, marking her fourth Vevo Live Performance for her HOLY FVCK album.
Demi Lovato has also started her fall tour for HOLY FVK. Her first performance was on September 27th at The Masonic in San Francisco, CA, and continues until her final performance at The Pavilion At Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas.
