Iconic DJ David Guetta has yet again been named DJ Mag’s number one DJ. This is Guetta’s fourth win of DJ Mag’s top 100 DJs poll, published yearly to name the number one producer in the world.

DJ Mag has been releasing their list of top 100 DJs for the past three decades, hitting their 30th anniversary in 2023. The award has been a public poll since 1997, previously voted on by music journalists and staff of the magazine.

Guetta has had one of the biggest years of his career to date in 2023, with a collection of smash hits that continue to boost his already immensely successful career.

Last year, Guetta released the chart-topping song “I’m Good (Blue)” featuring Bebe Rexha, an interpolation of Eiffel 65’s classic “Blue (Da Ba Dee)”. The song previously reached number one in over 20 countries including the United Kingdom and Canada.

While the now-iconic song boosted Guetta higher on everyone’s radars, the French DJ has been making music for nearly four decades. The DJ has a large collection of collaborations with huge artists, including Dua Lipa, Coldplay, Oliver Tree, and more. Guetta continues to prove himself even 35 years in, winning two Grammy awards, a Billboard Music Award, and an American Music Award.

It only makes sense to ride the wave of success, so Guetta has recently released two brand-new singles just in time for all the New Year’s Eve parties. “Big FU” with Arya Sarr and Lil Durk was released earlier this month, and Guetta’s new collaboration with Kim Petras, “When We Were Young”, is out now.

Guetta last won the number one spot on DJ Mag’s top 100 list in 2021 and won his first title in 2011. The DJ is approaching the record for most overall wins, coming up on Armin Van Buuren who holds 5 overall wins, only one ahead of Guetta. The Frenchman spoke with DJ Mag on the honor, attributing the title to the success of his collaboration with Bebe Rexha.

“It’s incredible! It’s wonderful! It’s great because I feel like every time I’m on the top of the Top 100 DJs, it’s for a different reason. You know, the previous times were probably thanks to Future Rave. This time is probably thanks to ‘I’m Good’ and those big crossover records. I love that I can express different feelings in different ways.”
