DAVID GUETTA, BECKY HILL AND ELLA HENDERSON LEAD THE RACE FOR THE SONG OF THE SUMMER WITH “CRAZY WHAT LOVE CAN DO”

Considering the small semblances of normalcy creeping back into society after the last couple years, it was only a matter of time before the much-missed “song of the summer” would makes its grand comeback. Thankfully, David Guetta has teamed up with powerhouse vocalists Becky Hill and Ella Henderson to deliver such a track with “Crazy What Love Can Do.”

By now, David Guetta is considered a god among men in the EDM world, to say nothing of his decades of party-ready hits that have made him a household name. “Crazy What Love Can Do” follows his proud tradition of unabashedly poppy singles featuring the best of the music world — in this case, British singer-songwriters Becky Hill and Ella Henderson, both of whose vocals elevate the track to the heights it reaches musically. What’s more, Becky Hill notes how “Crazy What Love Can Do” isn’t just a return to normal with its summery, love-in-the-club-centric lyrics — it’s also a fresh take on an old practice:

“It’s a shame that women don’t duet together more regularly, so I’m glad me and Ella are kicking off 2022 with this iconic smash dance record.”

Indeed, when Becky and Ella sing the infectious chorus, “Can someone tell me what is happening to me? / You’re my oxygen, now I can finally breathe / Didn’t care for anyone until there was you / Ain’t it crazy what love can do?” the listener genuinely feels as if the love that’s being sung about is the one true lifeline that can save our souls and take us to a higher plane. It’s not too bad an idea for a song, and a sentiment which David Guetta himself was aiming for when producing the track:

This to me is a summer dance record, and I think it spreads an important message of love and just how powerful it is.

It may just be the beginning of spring, but it seems we may already have a clear winner for who will win the coveted crown for 2022’s “song of the summer.” Take a listen to “Crazy What Love Can Do” below!
