“Dead of Night” has an energetic start as it begins with a crashing drum from drummer Devon Sutherland and sharp guitar shredding courtesy of lead guitarist Kiernan Marquis. Eventually, lead vocalist, Mackenzie Marquis joins in with a soaring vocal performance elevating the track to an even higher energy level on this vibrant song. This builds up to a guitar solo midway through the song that is heavy and full of grit which catapults the listener to the end of the song.
“Dead of Night” is everything one could want in a rock song: epic vocal performances, along with an abundance of guitar riffs and solos to please any guitar lover’s heart. Damsel’s rock influences from the 80s, along with the 70s and 90s, are evident in their music, with their catchy hooks, shredding guitar riffs, and fantastic guitar solos.
Damsel was started in 2018 by Kieran Marquis (lead guitarist and songwriter) and includes band members Mackenzie Marquis (lead vocals), Daniel Gottardo (guitar and backing vocals), Michael Climie (bass and backing vocals), and Devon Sutherland (Drums). “Dead of Night” is their debut single, followed by their newest single, “Saratoga Drive.”
