Corendon Airlines has just announced that they will begin offering child-free seating zones on their flights this year. This is a first for any European airline, only following behind two other airlines: AirAsia and Scoot.
The Turkish-Dutch airline introduced the “Only Adult” zones to accommodate passengers aged 16 and up interested in a quieter flight experience. Previous airlines have made the age limit start as low as 12 years old.
This child-free seating opportunity will only be available on a long-haul flight from Amsterdam to Curacao. The 10-hour flight will be making an extra effort to serve those who want to work, sleep, or just relax during the flight.

The Airbus A350-900 will be separated into two distinct sections, with the adults-only zone in the front and the “family area” in the rear of the plane. The two areas will be separated by walls and curtains meant to dampen noise.
The child-free area has its form of first class as well, comprising 93 standard economy seats and nine with extra legroom. You will have to pay an extra €45 each way to sit in the child-free area, and an extra €100 if you want the additional legroom.
While this section seems great for those traveling without children, it’s also a relief for parents traveling with children. Nobody wants to be responsible for the screaming infant making everybody on the plane upset, so now parents have a safe space to let their kids be kids.
“They can enjoy the flight without worrying if their children make a little noise.”
