Ireland’s own GRAMMY Award-winning star Cian Ducrot brings us his latest album and it may contain a Little Dreaming.
Following his debut album Victory, which catapulted him to #1 un the UK and Ireland, Cian Ducrot is at it again with his second album Little Dreaming. This time around, his brand new journey of self-discovery leads him through ’70s and ’80s inspired soundscapes, hitting home with heartfelt, authentic and completely unguarded songwriting.
About the album Cian says,
This album has been a crazy journey, it was an absolutely amazing experience. I set out to just be as creative and as free and as expressive as possible, and I think we’ve done that. It’s not an overstatement to say making the record has changed my life.
Newer tracks like “Who’s Making You Feel It, Little Dreaming, Shalalala” and “Your Eyes” add a special kind of playfulness to his pop style which beautifully contrasts his more emotional pieces.
Arguably the center piece of Little Dreaming, the track “What About Love” offers the best of these two worlds. The song smoothly evolves from a heartfelt Elton John inspired opening into a full-fledged ballad that never fails to grab our emotions. Cian created “What About Love” while sitting at his piano and reflecting on his journey so far, when suddenly the song just “fell out of him.”
About “What About Love” he tells us,
It was something that had been on my mind a lot, especially having dealt with these early stages of fame. I wanted to be honest about getting caught up in all these distractions, how we’re obsessed with what everybody else has.
Little Dancing continues to be a testament of Cian’s boundless sound and cross-genre mastery. From Irish folk flourishes on “Kiss And Tell” to a poignant piece on loss on “My Best Friend” and “Hallelujah.” On the latter one Cian once again proves his ability to let his music deeply touch our souls with his powerful voice. The grand finale forms the marvelous “See It To Believe It” in a captivating mix of Queen-inspired rock and catchy funk grandeur.
Another highlight of the album is the single with the same name “Little Dreaming.” It comes alongside a flashy music video that starts off with Cian fighting with the band before heading off to celebrate the rockstar lifestyle, before ending up on a stage in front of an empty hall, emphasizing the dreaming part. The song celebrates uniqueness and self-expression, urging us to embrace our individuality. While the ending of the music video pulls us back down to earth, the song itself conveys a carefree and vibrant spirit that comes with the freedom of dreaming big in the face of societal expectations. Moreover, it conveys the essence of the album that is Little Dreaming, which is celebrating hope and authenticity, empowering those who dare to break with conventions and free themselves from the constraints society puts on us.

Fresh off his two sold-out shows that he played to a massive audience of 12,000 fans, hailed by the Irish Examiner as “a homecoming to remember,” he conquered the US supporting Teddy Swims. Now Cian is back on his own “The Dream Ship Tour 2025,” leading him on adventures such as his biggest London show so far at the famed O2 Academy Brixton.
