Chancla Fight Club Unleashes New Single “Monster”

Fiery grunge-pop group Chancla Fight Club unleashed their latest single “Monster” on February 14th -marking the release of their third official song.

The Austin, Texas-based band originated in 2017 after lead vocalist Ashley Dawson and Niko Zorich joined forces to create music with one another. Zorich had previously studied audio production at The Recording Conservatory of Austin -leading him to eventually meet Dawson and begin their collaborative relationship. Chancla Fight Club was fully formed following the additions of guitarist Cole Pestana and bassist Karlos Rosell. The band has since then released several singles and garnered over 200 monthly listeners on Spotify.

Co-written by Zorich and Dawson, “Monster” is undeniably gripping, dark, and electrifying. It reveres embracing your inner demons rather than stifling them, and pushes you to embrace all aspects of humanity -whether they be good or bad. “Monster is an ode to your inner demons”, the group states, “We all have them. How do you face yours?”.

“Monster” is chillingly-cool and kinetic, erupting with an energy comparable to that of pop-punk bands Paramore and Metric. Dawson’s vocal arrangement is entrancing as she flawlessly blurs the lines between brooding and thrilling. Pestana and Rosell work in tandem to create the perfect track-each providing an electrifying performance without overshadowing one another. Pestana delivers on guitar, matching Dawson’s cool and calculated rawness. While Chancla Fight Club is reminiscent of the grunge bands of the 90s, they set themselves apart through their consistently current and unique production style. “Monster” features a flute solo that is cleverly accompanied by the incorporation of synth and keys.

You can check out more of Chancla Fight Club on streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, and Deezer.
