A Look Into Jet Black Stare’s Single, “In This Life”

International rock band, Jet Black Stare, has amassed over 12 million streams to date with their classic alternative rock hits. Having toured with 3 Doors Down, Staind, Hinder, Theory of A Deadman, Shinedown, and much more; many have been wondering what the group may have yet to offer as they continue to remain a classic and go-to for fans and rock music listeners alike.

Back in early 2007, Rod Black found the perfect songwriting companion in fellow Vancouver, Canadian songwriter producer Jeff Johnson. This harmonious partnership set the groundwork for the birth of a band along with Shane Hayes on bass, Flip Freig on guitar, Dave Muselman on guitar, and Dan Swinimer on drums which created the perfect vessel for Rod’s storytelling. Rod is a miracle survivor of a tragic car accident where he was pronounced dead yet he came back to life and walked out of the hospital within hours.

Rumored to be releasing new music this year, let’s take a look into Jet Black Stare’s title track from a classic album, In This Life.

This rock ballad showcases the vocalist’s crisp and polished vocals as he conveys an emotional story from start to end of a soldier at war, longing for home and comfort. As they face the fears and the terror, they think of home and that alone gives them the strength to carry on. With the steady rhythm, the vocals and the storytelling elements take hold and the message convicts further.
