Candace in Wonderland Releases Cancelled feat. Small Words

As featured on Fresh Finds: Pop, this Nashville-based artist introduces herself by stating, “i write songs and change my hair a lot.” Candance in Wonderland’s music sounds as colorful as her hair and visuals look. Her latest single Cancelled, features Small Words – an alt-pop band based out of Indianapolis. Written about the social anxiety in the era of quarantine, Candace states,

“It’s a casual approach to a heavy conversation about the feeling of life being cancelled in the past year.”

Contrary to the anxiety which lead to the song’s creation, Candace’s airy and light vocals compliment Small Words verse and production to make a fun and breezy listening experience for fans. I really enjoyed how this song plays with genres, as the intro has a tropical feel, and the chorus and Small Words’ verse venture more into of a neo-funk vibe. This ability to blend sounds definitely sets it aside from other pop releases, and add to what makes it a great summer track!
