Bringing Back the Early 2000’s in Kate Stewart’s New Single “Numb”
Any fan of early 2000’s R&B music (think Jojo’s “Leave (Get Out)”), should check out Kate Stewart’s new single, “Numb.”
“Numb” is an ode to that stage of heartbreak everyone knows all too well. With lyrics such as “I’m here but my mind is wondering’/ A thousand kisses/ But I don’t feel nothin’”, it’s hard not to relate to trying to forget about an ex as they keep creeping back into every thought. However, the light, breezy feel of the song makes it easy to bop to, giving the song a more fun vibe.

The music video follows the London-based pop star as she takes part in a photo shoot, which has a certain charm to it. Despite the lyrics about broken hearts, there are shots of Kate smiling and enjoying herself while doing work that she’s passionate about. As Kate describes it,
“I didn’t think I’d ever be able to make an ode to such a toxic relationship but, I’m really glad I did… I’m proud of myself for being able to grow past that and look back on that time with no resentment.”
The single was produced with the help of big time producers, Swagg R’Celious (Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo, H.E.R., Kehlani), Keithen “Bassman” Foster (H.E.R., Teyana Taylor, Marc E. Bassy, Wyclef Jean, Leo the Kind), and Frank Romano (Kanye West, Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande, Machine Gun Kelly, Kid Cudi, Mary J. Blige).
“Numb” is Kate Stewart’s second single, following the success of her smash hit “Hate You”. This is the second installment of Kate’s upcoming EP, “You Had To Be There” (out Fall of 2022), which weaves together songs telling stories about the “seasons of love, self love and empowerment.”
