Bridget Rian Launches Emotional Single, “radio silence”

Rian grew up on Long Island, NY, and began writing songs at the age of 11 after her mother bought her a guitar for her 10th birthday. Her alternative songwriting influences began at a young age as she grew in her inspiration for artists such as Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Ingrid Michaelson, and Sara Bareilles. From then, she was hooked into songwriting and became determined to shape her own music journey.

In the summer of 2019, Rian made the move to Nashville, TN to focus on her career as an artist and continues to write, perform and release new music. She’s since launched singles that have amassed critical acclaim as she rises in the scene. As she continued to find her voice, she, too, aspired to break the boundaries of what all her listeners knew about her. From there, arose “Radio Silence.”

Released on Friday, July 22nd, the single’s emotional nature grips the listener closely into the soundscape with its gritty texture of electric guitar, contrasted by its emotionally vibrant, yet calming vocals. With her emotive lyrics, Rian peels back the layers of years we’ve lived and loves we’ve lost to reveal that in the end, we all play the villain or the savior in someone’s story, even our own.

“Radio Silence” is my emo Alanis moment. It’s angry but also slightly pathetic. It’s me grasping for some self-respect before completely losing it. It’s about how there’s always that one person who no matter how terrible they treat you, you would answer when they called. You would drive to their house in the middle of the night. How you want so badly to be able to let go of this person and have some self-respect but they have some weird spell on you that you wish you could break.
